Current status of plant diversity in the region (LWE2103034)

The line ”Current situation of plant diversity in the region” (LWE 2103034) carries out a survey of the plant materials of the Bética mountains present in the herbarium in the University of Seville to elaborate maps of distribution of the vascular flora in the Betic mountain ranges, paying special attention to the presence of endemic species. It also investigates the interdependence between plants and soil microorganisms to determine the influence of these interactions on plant species richness in a community as well as other understudied dimensions of the contribution of biodiversity (chemical, epigenetics) to the resilience in plant communities of arid and high-altitude sites. In addition, the line investigates the richness of pollinators and their pollination service in well-preserved places of the Sierras of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural park and will provide an updated catalog of scientific literature on Botany, Zoology and Ecology as a necessary tool for the analysis of the richness and conservation status of their species and interactions.
