WP5: eLabs-BioINTERACT: Ecological Interactions as Components of Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services

No species on Earth lives without interacting with other species, and ecological interactions therefore play an essential role in supporting the Earth system. Indeed, one of the consequences of biodiversity loss is the extinction of ecological interactions.

The main objectives of eLabs-BioINTERACT will be to develop a data standard on ecological interactions with integration into the GBIF platform, to develop prototypes of online access platforms for information on ecological interactions between species, analogous to those already existing with information on biodiversity, and to design and compile a database on ecological interactions in the field of Andalusia.
