Land use and cycles of abandonment and intensification have resulted in a highly fragmented landscape that poses a risk to the conservation of natural habitats. This task maps the status and trends of the condition of the land, respectively in terms of ecological maturity (including from mature to highly degraded) and plant biomass gains or losses in the period 2010-2020. For this, archived time series of a vegetation density index and corresponding climatic data are used. The result will be made up of continuous maps of all Andalusia at 1km resolution, which will serve to evaluate the state of conservation and isolation of the protected areas of the Natura 2000 network, and also the degree of compliance with the sustainable Development Goal 15.3: ”Achieve neutrality in land degradation by 2030”.
