The subproject 2 of WP5 seeks to catalogue the interactions that plants establish with eachother and mycorrhizal fungi. The objective is to gather information on the architecture of the plant-plant and mycorrhizal plant-fungus interaction networks that occur in the main types of plant formations in Andalusia. To do this, we carry out sampling that consists of recording recruitment interactions between canopy plants and young plants that are growing under their covers. In addition, through molecular DNA sequencing techniques we identify the mycorrhizal fungi that live associated with each of them. The analysis of these interaction networks provides us with information on the persistence of these plant communities, as well as the possibility of identifying key species for each one of them, information that we consider relevant for decision-making in natural space management.
