He holds a PhD in Biological Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid, working at the Doñana Biological Station. My line of research integrates studies of animal behaviour, population ecology, and evolutionary biology to understand ecological interactions, the evolution of life histories, and the conservation of biodiversity. Within the SUMHAL project we are exploring the use of citizen science data for the study of parasites and pathogens that affect birds. We will also estimate the possible dispersion of pathogens on a local scale from the movements of birds marked with emitters by other teams participating in the project.
