Got a MSC degree in Biology at the University of Sevilla, and fulfilled PhD studies at the University of Huelva. Then he worked at the University of Girona and the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia, before joining the Estación Biológica de Doñana – CSIC, where he is currently a permanent researcher. His main research lines are the study of biological invasions and their impacts, the ecology and conservation of freshwater fauna and the analysis of long term dynamics in species distributions and landscape features, using historical ecology approaches.
