Luís Santamaría

MSc Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, PhD Wageningen University, senior researcher of the Netherlands institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW), tenured researcher at the Mediterranean Institute for Advanced Studies (IMEDEA, UIB-CSIC), and fellow researcher at the University of Tokyo (Japan; 2006) and Cornell University (USA; 2012). Currently he is senior researcher at the Doñana Biological Station (EBD-CSIC), where he leads the Spatial Ecology Group. His research focuses on the role of resource barriers on plant-animal coevolution, the role of animal movement on resource utilization by herbivores and the dispersal of sessile organisms, the analysis of environmental and research policy, and he co-design of adaptive co-management programs.
