Gonzalo Nieto Feliner

He is a Research Professor at the Royal Botanical Garden of the CSIC. Using systematics as a framework, his current scientific interests are aimed at understanding the patterns of diversity in plants, the influential processes or even drivers of differentiation and speciation, as well as reconstructing the evolutionary history that has given rise to those patterns. Among the processes, it deals particularly with hybridization and polyploidy. It uses a variety of approaches and data sources from morphology to genomics, and, among environmental ones, species distribution models.
