Sierra Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park (Huelva)

Located in the western part of Sierra Morena, the park has a total surface area of 186,795 hectares distributed in small municipalities with an agricultural-forestry-livestock tradition. Its natural vegetation ranges from holm oak (Quercus ilex) to oak (Quercus suber)/quejigar (Quercus canariensis), including very old chestnut (Castanea sativa) and more recent plantations of pine and eucalyptus. However, its entire geography is characterised by areas of woody crops such as olive and chestnut trees, many of which have been abandoned, and extensive areas of holm oak and cork oak pastures.
